If you want to download a FREE copy of Foto Filer, select the Foto Filer Installer icon below. Downloading the Foto Filer Installer will place the basic version of Foto Filer on your PC which can be used at no cost indefinitely. Once installed, there is an option to start the FREE 30 day Trial Registration which will provide 100% of the available Foto Filer functionality to you. After the trial expires, if you choose not to purchase Foto Filer, you can continue to use it indefinitely, but only the functions provided in the basic version will remain operational. Purchasing Foto Filer, thereby registering it, will unlock the full functionality of Foto Filer. You will not have to re-install the software if you decide the purchase (register) the advanced version.

There are four download options to choose from. The first three are components of Foto Filer (Foto Filer Installer, Installation Instructions, User Manual). The fourth (Adobe Reader) is a link to the Adobe website where a free copy of the Adobe Reader can be downloaded. A brief explanation follows to assist you in choosing the right download file for you.

Foto Filer Installer This is the complete Foto Filer system installation package. Once downloaded to your PC, double-clicking on the file called "setupff.exe" from your PC will initiate the installation process. This process will install all the program elements needed to run Foto Filer as well as the full User Manual documentation package. A ReadMe file is also included since any last minute changes to Foto Filer will be documented in the ReadMe text document. Click the Foto Filer icon at left to initiate the download.

Before you start the actual installation, you should look at the Installation Instructions below. If you don't have a photographic memory, you can choose to print the instructions after selecting the Installation Instruction icon.

Installation Instructions Although the installation of Foto Filer is intuitive to most, if there is any trepidation at all about the install, you should review this document. The complete installation process is explained step by step by clicking the icon at left. From the display page, you can also choose to print the instructions so you have them at your fingertips.

User Manual This is the complete Foto Filer User Manual. It is in the Adobe format which means you must have the Adobe Reader on your PC in order to view the documentation. Since most documentation packages today utilize the Adobe format, you probably already have the reader installed. If the reader is not already installed on your PC, you can receive a free copy from the Adobe web site. Select the Adobe Reader icon below to link to their web page. Once there, Adobe will explain how to download and then install the reader on your PC.

The User Manual is a very large document and may take some time to download if you are on a dial-up connection to the internet. It is, however, a very useful document if you want to understand how Foto Filer works and to understand all the features of the software. Topics covered include, Fundamentals, Installation, Registration, Main Processing Functions, Assigning Destination Albums, Manipulating a Photo, and more. Since most people do not like to read user manuals, the structure of the document lends itself to being a useful reference tool as well.

If you download the Foto Filer Installer, you do not need to download this file. It is included in the Foto Filer Installer download. However, if you are on the fence as to whether to want to use Foto Filer, feel free to download the Manual separately and take a look at it. It should give you additional information in which to base your decision.

Clicking the icon on the left will initiate the download process. The file that actually gets downloaded however is a file called "Foto Filer User Manual.exe (note the EXE versus PDF file type). This file is known as a "self extracting file". After the download is completed, you need to double click the file from the location you asked to save it to on your PC. Doing so, will extract the actual User Manual in the correct format for viewing. This may sound complicated, but all the work is done for you. You just need to recall where you have saved the "self extracting file" on your PC when you downloaded it, and when asked, identify where you want the actual PDF file to be saved. By default, the User Manual will be installed in the root of the C: drive (C:\) unless you indicate otherwise when you double-click the EXE file.

Adobe Reader Adobe Reader is required to view the Foto Filer User Manual. If the reader is not already installed on your PC, you will need to download and install it before viewing the User Manual. There is no cost to download, install or use the Adobe Reader. Select the icon left to access the Adobe web page and initiate the download.
