Entertainment Tracker or ETracker, is designed to inventory entertainment related information. By keeping an electronic inventory, certain information can be documented once and retained permanently. Once documented, easy access to the information is available for reporting or inquiry. As a user, data is stored as TITLES in as much or as little detail as the user chooses. The only required data is the Title itself. Depending on individual needs, the user may choose to select the more advanced version of ETracker which allows the capturing of everything including the kitchen sink, or the light version which captures just basic information. In either case, the Title will be assigned a STORAGE NUMBER that will be used to locate the physical media when desired.
ETracker can inventory eight types of entertainment media including DVDs, Laser Disks, Cassette Tapes, VHS Tapes, CDs, Computer Software, and Books. ETracker tailors the system to accommodate each type of media. In addition, ETracker provides a separate storage numbering system for each type of media. In fact, ET also provides an administrative option that allows multiple libraries to be managed for each of the media types. For instance, the administrator may choose to store all “G” rated DVDs separate from all “R” rated DVDs. In fact, if this option is chosen, the administrator may place certain restrictions on specific users to prevent that user from seeing certain library contents.
